Lou Lemos has been the President & CEO of BTI The Travel Consultants since its beginning in 1988. Prior to that, he served as a Regional Sales Manager for Fuji Photo Film USA. He has filled various sales and management positions. Lou graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam with a degree in Music. Lou has grown the business from its original 2 employees to become one of the largest business travel management companies in Upstate New York. Today we service well over 200 clients around the country.
Jennifer DeFuria is BTI’s COO & CFO. She has a B.S. in Accounting from LeMoyne College. Jennifer has been in the travel industry since 1985 and with BTI since 1999. Prior to joining BTI, Jennifer owned and managed her own travel agency-handling everything from traveler reservations , vendor negotiations, sales and customer service to back-office finances. Jennifer’s family agency merged with BTI in 1999. Jennifer’s responsibilities include planning and overseeing the agency’s financial operations, developing and maintaining financial management systems, preparing financial reports and analysis’ for other management staff, review and analyze agency contracts, oversee payroll, and coordinate accounting personnel policies and procedures and staff development.
Lewis Mucci, Controller of BTI The Travel Consultants, has been a member of the Management Team for the past 13 years. He has a business degree from Le Moyne College. He worked for 14 years as a controller for a heavy truck dealership with 5 locations and was a controller for a large 500 room convention hotel before joining BTI. He is responsible for the financial reporting and monetary obligations of the travel agency. He works with clients to supply them with financial reports as needed. Lewis works with the agencies management team to streamline the daily accounting functions of the agency
Lindsey Dwyer, Leisure Travel Manager and member of the Management Team has been in the travel industry for 16 years and with BTI for the past 11 years. She is a graduate of Morrisville State College with a Degree in Travel & Tourism / Hospitality Management. Lindsey is the main point of contact for the Leisure Department, and over sees any customer service issues, is the liaison between the vendors and the agents as well as the contact person for Virtuoso. She also works with the sales team on building relationships with our corporate clients and business development, for corporate incentive programs and small groups.
Michele Ryan, Corporate Operations Manager and a member of the Management Team has been in the travel industry for 32 years. Michele has been with BTI The Travel Consultants since its inception 22 years ago. She acts as the main point of contact for our corporate department and is responsible for operational issues such as staffing , their productivity and profitability, along with training and development. A graduate of St John Fisher College with a BA in English and Communications Michele enjoys using her communication skills to act as a liaison between customers and the corporate department.
Sheri Tyler, Vice President of Sales and Customer Relations Division, is a graduate of RIT’s Hotel and Travel Management Bachelor of Science program, Sheri has more than 25 years experience in corporate travel. She’s been a member of BTI’s leadership team for over 15 years and brings first-hand knowledge in Operations, Account Management and Corporate Sales. Today, her primary focus is on the growth of BTI through new and existing customers as well as providing support to her team responsible for customer satisfaction through account management, customer service and online booking support. Her passion for corporate travel is displayed to customers through her actions. She strives to find balance between the needs of a corporation, while still offering services to enhance the travel experience for the business traveler. For Sheri, every day is an exciting challenge in the ever changing world of business travel!
Yvonne Shaw,Vice President of Group, Meeting & Incentives Division and member of the Management Team at BTI, joined BTI 11 years ago. She came to BTI with a degree in Business Administration from Bentley College. She has held positions as an assistant controller, buyer, manager of a restaurant boutique in Boston, the director at a private local social club in the 1990’s, and moved into Sales and Marketing at one of the leading local hotels. She joined BTI’s Sales & Customer Service team and the Convention Services Division in 2000. She works directly with our Logistics team to provide total meeting management including selecting sites, building registration processes, providing in-house management, prepare and manage program budgets and spend, negotiate contracts to include venues, air transportation, hotels and ground transportation. She continues to grow and expand vendor relationships to provide our clients with the best resources in the industry.
